Vermilion is a graphic and web communications company located in Boulder, Colorado. Sitting diagonally on a square concrete plinth, the existing building forms a diamond shape with triangular terraces at each corner. The addition of a clear glass vestibule anchors the mirrored glass box to the site.

On the inside, an elliptical curved steel staircase provides a continuous transition between the upper and lower levels, forming a pivot around which all activities of the office radiate. Exposed ductwork, steel joists, concrete ceilings and the transparency of the exterior membrane reinforce the open and articulated space.
