A pedestrian crossing over an 8 lane highway, the design intent is to create a structure that engenders the symbolic quality of gateway to the city. The twin arch trusses clear span the highway and are to be constructed of smaller tube members reading as filigree. These trusses will be joined at the base at the west abutment and split apart on the east. On the east a series of ramp and stair elements provide access up to the crossing. The west abutment is depressed into the slope of the highway embankment and is organized around a series of sculptural forms enclosing ramps and stairs.

Cost: Estimated $1.7 M.
