Platte Bridge
Platte Bridge T h e  P l a t t e  R i v e r  C r o s s i n g

This 210 foot clear span pedestrian bridge is constructed over the Platte river replacing a deteriorating concrete span, the last fragment of the viaduct system that provided access over the Platte Valley in the early part of the century. Designed to be a landmark in the new Commons Park development, the steel splayed arch structure is a contemporary version of the traditional rural bridge with an elegant bow in both plan and elevation.

1997 recipient Merit Award, Denver Chapter American Institute of Architects.

Cost: $1.6 M
